Relics is a series of still-life photographs that honour the past, through the memorialization of objects that have survived over time. The objects are selected for being sentimental; crystal glass boxes, sculptures, butterflies, and magnifying glasses. Photographed with a consistent use of frame, scale and light, the objects themselves illicit closer scrutiny, conjuring ideas of their past connections with people and relationships lost over time.

Momento
Inspired by the past and in anticipation of new beginnings, Memento is deeply personal to me. I choose objects that remind me of people who have had a profound impact on my life, either through presence or absence. The often-present theme of Memento Mori (“remember you will die”) reminds me of the transient nature of people and things, pulling me to the past while being in the present.
